Primary market
Food manufacturing and co-packing
The visual checks that matter most on a fast packaging line are exactly the ones a fixed threshold cannot hold: seal integrity, film damage, contamination in the seal, label and print faults. So they stay manual, and manual gets tired.
IAS builds the inspection into the line rather than beside it. We design custom mounting applications to meet customer requirements, stainless and washdown rated where the area calls for it, with the verdict wired into the line controller and a reject gate that acts on it.
What it looks like in practice
- Every product inspected or fail-safe rejected, single lane. Achievable line rate depends on product and pouch size. Nothing passes because the camera missed it.
- Sanitary construction available. Stainless and washdown rated enclosures for wet areas, specified during validation, not improvised at install.
- Recipes by SKU, so a changeover is a screen selection, not an engineering visit.
- Every verdict logged with its image, which is what a customer complaint investigation actually needs.
Examples of defects
Seal and closure
Heat seal faults, seal position and alignment, sonic seal defects, folds, and contamination trapped in the seal.
Film and surface
Punctures, tears, edge cuts, abrasion and delamination on pouches, film and flexible packaging.
Label, print and pack
Skewed and misapplied labels, print faults, missing or wrong components, orientation and mixed product in the case.

Distilling and cooperage
Distilleries and cooperages run on purpose-built machines, and IAS provides a range of them: barrel handling and conveyance systems, combustion and char process control, hazardous area rated controls, and panel builds and retrofits on equipment that has to keep running while we work on it. Recent work includes a coiled iron hoop line for a cooperage and roughly twenty support engagements in 2025 alone.
Build and finish match the need, from plain workhorse equipment in the back of house to polished, visitor-ready machines for the parts of the distillery that are on the tour. We will scope the smallest version of the job that solves the problem, and say so if the bigger version is not worth it yet.

Municipal water and wastewater
Process control retrofits, pump and drive lineups, SCADA and HMI work, and UL 508A panels built to plant standards. Brownfield conversions on equipment that cannot be taken out of service for long, with as built documentation delivered at the end rather than promised.
Metal and component manufacturing
Machine tending cells, robotic material handling, press and fabrication automation, and the guarding and safety circuits that go with them. Risk assessment to ISO 13849 with Category 4 and PLe circuits where the assessment calls for it.
Plastics and extrusion
